The Columbus YWCA
The Center for Workforce Development banquet facilities (Columbus State Community College)
The Columbus Cultural Arts Center
This historic building by the Scioto River in Downtown Columbus is a true treasure. Adults take art classes there, and it's got a very creative and energetic vibe. The outdoor courtyard behind the building is brick, lined with the beautiful flowers, and enclosed by a wall, giving it a private feel.

Karen Evans Pictures
She calls herself "fearless." And she is. Karen will capture so many surprising images for you on your wedding day! Check out her site, and you will see what she does. It will impress you. She has a great blog on her site that has stories about the weddings she has photographed. (Plus, she's just generally a badass camera-wielding chick.)
Kathy Grinstead Photography
Kathy has a photography degree from Ohio State. She specializes in romantic and casual shots that will warm your heart. Plus, Kathy shoots other life-cycle moments, like pictures of your kids, senior photos, and she can do a photo session with your parents to help them celebrate their anniversary! (You know you want to do this for them...)
Our Dream Photos
I worked with Jim when we both were in the news business. He's a fabulous photographer, especially when it comes to capturing the exact feeling of each moment. Want spontaneous photos that are flawless? Call him! Your wedding will look like it's ready for a national magazine!
Allie Mellinger, photographer
Allie has a great feel for the personality of her subjects. Take a look at her site. (See the blonde? That's one of my brides!)
Alice's Piece of Cake
Oh, my goodness! Alice Dreischarf's cupcakes are addictive. They never last very long! So order a LOT. Her wedding cakes are sculptures. I'd be afraid to eat them! (But I'd make an exception...)
Catering by Scott
I've eaten their food. It's good. It's creative. They do everything - even kosher! Call Nathan.
A Cake for Leroy
I met Holly Faulkner at a wedding show. She told me the story of her business: She met an elderly man who encouraged her to go into business baking her amazing cakes. It was because of Leroy that Holly decided to take the leap. And then, Leroy passed away unexpectedly. She decided to honor his memory by naming her business after him. What could be sweeter? Holly makes everything that has to do with cake batter, including cupcakes. They taste amazing. And believe me, I've eaten a cupcake or 2 (or 200).
I have eaten this food many times. It is always really good. And it's versatile. I've eaten salads, sandwiches, desserts, meat dishes, vegetarian specialties - and I know they can do a great job for you. They've got a professional chef and a great staff. The best part is that L.A. Catering is a proud division of LifeCare Alliance. As it says on their site, "All profits from L.A. Catering are invested back into LifeCare Alliance to support older adults, medically challenged and disabled individuals in central Ohio. This means when you book a catering through L.A. Catering, you are not only receiving first-class service with a personal touch, but you are also assisting with the independence of older adults in our community!" I've been a volunteer with LifeCare Alliance for a while, in a few different capacities. It's a special organization.

Tommy Nutter, D.J.
There's a reason Tommy gets a lot of business. When you meet him, you will find out.
I met him at one of my client's weddings, and he really knows what he's doing.

Hammered Dulcimer & Violin
Ellen and Priscilla perform all kinds of music. If you want traditional, you got it. If you want popular music, they are all over it. How many people can say they had a dulcimer at their wedding, let alone one that was used to play "Proud Mary"?
Bill has married more than 1,000 couples. He is a classy, charming, warm, and knowledgeable ceremony master.
But don't take my word for it. Call him. He is the perfect officiant for you if you like something a bit more traditional, but with a personal touch.
